What Is KidQuest?
KidQuest is the children's ministry at Hunter Street Baptist Church. We've got tons of great learning and growing opportunities for children in grades 1-6. Mom and Dad, we love and care about you and your family. You'll find our church is a great place for children to begin and grow in their faith.

Bsafe Online- offers internet filters and parental control software to keep your kids
safe online.
Family First- offers articles, interactive resources, online brochures and daily emails
with practical advice on marriage, parenting, and family relationships.
Family Life- offers articles, daily devotionals and online broadcasts on the topics of
marriage, parenting, life as a single parent, and life issues.
Focus on Your Child- from Focus on the Family, this site offers tips and articles on a
variety of subjects and includes special areas for single parents and new parents.
Guide 2 Games- from ChristianAnswers.net, this site offers reviews on numerous
games for XBOX, PlayStation, Nintendo and the computer. The purpose of this site is
to "assist gamers and parents in making wise decisions in their choice of electronic
games.
Kids-in-Mind- see ratings for movies past and present that will truly help you decide
whether or not it is appropriate for children. Includes ratings on sex/nudity, profanity
and gore/violence.
National Center for Biblical Parenting- offers resources including books, tapes, videos
and CDs. Also provides information on parenting support groups and a free weekly
parenting tip email.
Parents Television Council- offers and easy to understand Family Guide for Prime Time
Television.
Plugged In Online- from Focus on the Family. This website offers reviews on movies,
tv shows, games, and music to help parents make decisions on what is appropriate
for their kids.
Safe Families- offers free parental control software to keep your kids safe online. Also
offers online workshops and articles on different topics related to internet safety.

Leading a Child to Christ
Here you will find a helpful tool for talking to your children about starting a relationship with Jesus Christ. This is also a basic outline of what Bro. Mark talks to children about when he meets with them prior to baptism.
CH.I.C (Children's Information Class)
At Hunter Street, children who have made the decision to accept Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior have a couple of steps to go through before they can follow through in baptism. The first step is to attend the Children's Information Class or CHIC. This class meets in the KidQuest Building at the same time as the Membership Information Class (MIC) for the adults. A child must be in the 2nd grade before they can attend this class. After completing this class, the child and their parents will need to attend a pre-baptism class- Way 2 Go! for 2nd-4th graders or Immerse for 5th-6th graders.. The purpose of this process is to ensure that our children truly do understand the commitment that they are making before we baptize them. You can sign your child up for the next CHIC by calling the KidQuest Office at 985.7295.
Family Celebration Services
Periodically throughout the year we have a special baptism service that we call the Family Celebration Service. These are held on a Sunday afternoon and all the children who have made a profession of faith but have not followed through with baptism are invited to attend. Prior to the servicethe children must attend the CHIC and Way 2 Go! or Immerse classes. If you are interested in having your child participate in the next Family Celebration Service and they have not attended the Children's Information Class, call the KidQuest Office at 985.7295 to sign them up for the next class.
KidQuest Sunday School Curriculum
We have created a page completely devoted to our Sunday School Curriculum (click here). We hope that this page will serve as a resource for you to stay involved in helping your child as they grow towards spiritual maturity. Everything that we produce related to this curriculum, from the catechism to the Fridge Frames, will be available to download so that you can always access it when needed. Some of the documents are in PDF format so you will need Adobe Reader (you can download it free from here).
